1977

Garry Hurvitz establishes GH Group.
Head Office and Distribution Center opened in Scarborough, Ontario.
All products are domestically manufactured.


1989

Company expands business overseas, manufacturing on an item basis.


1991

GH Group launches the Ash City brand, a comprehensive, domestic collection, offering exciting product options for today’s relaxed dress code.
Original product line includes 6 shirts made out of ash colored jersey knit.
Company name derived from the colour of the original shirts.


1997

Ash City starts selling to US customers.
First US distribution center opens in Rochester, NY.


1999

Ash City launches the IL Migliore brand, an elegant, high quality, imported line, consisting of 100% mercerized shirts with subtle colors and striking yarn dye patterns.


2001

Ash City launches the North End brand, an imported line of functional garments that combines sporty styling with technical fabrics, finishes, and our exclusive Ezem system for easy embroidery. This brand covers a wide range of product categories that include outerwear, workwear, active wear, fleece and accessories.


2002

Ash City launches the Extreme brand, a high value import line of entry-priced golf shirts with the same superior quality as our domestic product. Garments are available in 100% polyester, 100% cotton or a cotton/polyester blend.


2003

Ash City launches the Extreme eDry brand.


2005

Ash City launches the North End Sport brand, an imported line of apparel designed on the three principles of fit, fashion and function. Inspired by retail athletic brands and manufactured with some of the most innovative fabrics, these garments perform as well as they look.


2007

Rochester distribution center replaced with a State-of-the-Art 150,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Lenexa, KS.


2007

e.c.o (ecological clothing options) line is introduced.


2008

Online Interactive catalog launched.


2008

Ash City launches the Extreme ePerformance brand.


2009

New State-of-the-Art 272,000 sq. ft building opens in Richmond Hill, Ontario to house all employees under one roof.
Building is recognized as energy efficient and the largest in Richmond Hill.
One of the largest employers in Richmond Hill.


2010

Ash City launches its French website.
